Key Peninsula Farmers Market and Swap Meet Open Today!

With the warming days comes one of my favorite community events.  A great place to visit with friends and neighbors or meet new ones - the Key Peninsula Farms Market and Swap Meet opens today!  Stop in and tour the wares of the community residents including jewelry, lawn and garden equipment, garden plants, many handmade items and lots other merchandise.  I can hardly wait for the farm fresh fruits and vegies that will also be featured a bit later during as crops mature (just a bit early right now - unless you like sprouts). Drop by, have some fun and support our local community. The Key Peninsula Farms Market and Swap Meet is held at Jerry’s Drive Thru Feed located at the intersection of Wright-Bliss and Elgin Clifton (Hwy 302.) and will be open Saturdays 10:00 to 3:00, and Sundays 11:00 – 3:00 every weekend until Labor Day.  If you have items to sell or crafts you would like to market booth costs only $40 for the season.  Yes, only $40 for the entire season.  Make the trip and check it out!
Thank-you Jerry’s Drive Thru Feed for providing the space for this event.  As visiting the Drive Thru Feed is an event in itself, this venue is a real bonus for the Farmer Market and Swap Meet.   Although, I don’t have any farm animals (Chihuahuas don’t need much acreage or feed), I have often had propane tanks for the BBQ filled at Jerry’s Drive Thru Feed.  I’ve always been met with great service and a cold bottle of water – very nice on a hot summer day.  While there I also admire Jerry’s vegie gardens and the cute farm critters he takes care of.  Getting propane tanks filled is not typically anything to look forward to, but this short trip has been enjoyable every time I have visited.  Thanks again Jerry.
